Key Features:
*Equation is y=a^x
*Shape is a curve
*Either always increasing or always decreasing
*Has a horizontal asymptote at y=0
*One "side" of graph approaches infinity
*Contains the point (0, 1)
*Graph is in quadrants I and II
Similarities to Linear & Quadratic Functions
*Domains are all real numbers
*Linear and Exponential can either increase or decrease
*At least one "side" of graph approaches an infinity
*All three functions are continuous
Differences
*Exponential is a curve, not a line like linear functions
*Exponential does not change direction or have a max/min like quadratic quadratic
*Has horizontal asymptotes
*One "side" of the graph approaches 0
*Basic exponential graph does not go below the x-axis
